Once again, we were confronted with the disconcerting sight of the already gone-home Robbie Fowler and Bradley Wiggins jollying it up at the chalet. 6. It's still confusing seeing eliminated contestants pottering in the background Perhaps all that fake tan helps with the down-force as you're pelting towards the finish line. But there was a genuine surprise as reality television star Lydia Bright swept past paralympian Kadeena Cox and taekwondo champ Jade Jones to win at ski-cross. The Jump hasn't done much to challenge the stereotype of celebrities as brittle and self-involved or of elite athletes as bland and grumpy (hello to you Bradley Wiggins). 5. A Towie graduate left two Olympians choking on snow Poor Caprice. We trust she has a note from her doctor – or her agent. "Why are we looking at Caprice?" one tweeter thundered. Social media did not exactly drip sympathy. But with the quarter finals next, for how much longer can she cling on? She's still in the competition – all that practice has made her reasonably accomplished at the elimination event. For the fourth consecutive week, beauty queen Willerton had placed last in her race and thus had to participate in the eponymous Jump. "Does it get any easier?" asked Davina McCall with as straight a face as she could muster (not very straight it transpired). 3. Amy Willerton was for the high jump – again What about some Indiana Jones-style giant rolling boulders bearing down on these overachievers to liven things up? The threat of an imminent squishing might relieve them of their irritating faux-modesty. Yet Robinson seemed perfectly calm – as did Olympian gymnast Louis Smith, all but strolling across the finish line as he later claimed the golden cowbell for overall first place. "It was so nervous about the Wu Tang," said rugby ace Jason Robinson as he coasted to pole position in his race against Amy Willerton and Emma Parker Bowles, who came a cropper on a nasty corner. Even the (presumably painful) falls and tumbles were ho-hum. The challenge The Jump faces is to make it appear the competitors are in imminent danger without actually putting them in harm's way – a task the ski-cross failed to accomplish.
